Terms

By taking your seat at the table, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language. Read them once before you sign up. If anything is unclear, write to [email protected] and we will answer.

Who May Use DOMINUS

You must be at least 18 years old to create a DOMINUS account. The platform is for adults. By signing up you affirm that you meet the age requirement and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction.

One account per person. Holding multiple accounts to gain a competitive or trial-period advantage is grounds for termination of all accounts you hold.

The Membership

DOMINUS is a subscription service. The price is $4.99 per month, in United States dollars. The first seven days are complimentary. Card details are required at the start of the trial; no charge is made before day seven.

Your subscription renews automatically each month at the same price unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months.

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry on its standard schedule. If retries fail and we cannot collect, your access will be suspended until billing is restored.

We may change the subscription price. If we do, we will give you at least thirty days' notice via the email associated with your billing account. The new price applies to your next renewal; you can cancel before that renewal at no cost.

The Designation

The display name you choose at sign-up is your designation at the table. It is permanent by design. You may not change it. You may not impersonate another player, claim affiliations you do not have, or use a name that violates the conduct standard below.

We reserve the right to revoke a designation that violates these terms. If we do, you may choose a new compliant name.

Conduct at the Table

You agree not to:

Cheat. No automation, no bots, no third-party software designed to play the game on your behalf or to expose information you should not have. The shuffle is verifiable on-chain; tampering is detectable and grounds for permanent termination.

Collude. No coordinating outcomes with another player to manipulate match results, leaderboard standings, or in-game economics. Friendly play is encouraged. Coordinated cheating is not.

Harass. No targeting another player with hostile, threatening, discriminatory, or sexually harassing language in chat, in display names, or anywhere else on the platform.

Disrupt. No probing for vulnerabilities, no denial-of-service attacks, no scraping at scale, no attempting to access another player's account, no reverse-engineering the platform's binaries to circumvent its protections. Coordinated security research is welcome — see Security Disclosures below.

Misrepresent. No claiming that DOMINUS endorses you, that your account is operated by us, or that records you produce are official platform output.

Violations may result in temporary or permanent termination of your account, with or without notice depending on severity. We do not refund pro-rated time for accounts terminated for cause.

Verifiable Records

Every shuffle and every game outcome on DOMINUS is recorded on the Internet Computer. These records are public and cannot be altered or removed. By playing, you acknowledge that your principal and your game history are part of a permanent verifiable ledger.

This is the foundational property of the platform. It is what makes the game fair. It is also why we cannot delete game history on request — no one can. The Privacy policy explains this in more detail.

Service Availability

We aim for uninterrupted play. The platform runs on a public network we do not solely control, and brief disruptions can occur — node failovers, canister upgrades, or wider Internet Computer events. We will not refund pro-rated time for short outages, but we will extend membership at our discretion when an outage materially affects play over a sustained period.

We may also schedule maintenance windows. We will announce them at least 48 hours in advance via the email associated with your billing account, and we will keep them as short as the work requires.

Our Intellectual Property

The DOMINUS name, the mark, the wordmark, the visual design, the copy on this site, and the platform's source code are owned by us. You may not reproduce them in commercial work without our written permission. Personal screenshots of your own game state are fine and do not require permission.

The game of dominoes is a public-domain game. We do not claim ownership of dominoes itself.

Your Content

Anything you submit to the platform — display names, chat messages, comments — remains yours. By submitting it, you grant DOMINUS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display it as part of operating the service. We do not use your content for advertising, training models, or any purpose unrelated to running the game.

Termination

You may cancel at any time through your account. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

We may terminate your account for material breach of these terms, including the conduct rules above. We will give notice where reasonably possible. We may terminate without notice in cases of cheating, security violations, or court orders. Termination ends your access; it does not delete your on-chain game history (which cannot be deleted by anyone).

Disclaimers

DOMINUS is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of every defect. We do not guarantee that game outcomes will favor any particular player. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DOMINUS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the membership fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions, the limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold DOMINUS harmless from claims arising out of your violation of these terms, your violation of applicable law, or your violation of the rights of another player.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct correspondence will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you reside in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with consumer-protection laws that override this clause, those laws apply to you and nothing in this agreement removes the rights they grant you.

Security Disclosures

We welcome coordinated security disclosures. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, write to [email protected] with "Security" in the subject line. We acknowledge serious reports within 24 hours. Do not exploit the vulnerability beyond what is necessary to demonstrate it. Do not publicly disclose the vulnerability before we have had a reasonable window to address it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced via the email associated with your billing account at least seven days before they take effect. Continuing to use DOMINUS after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you may cancel before they take effect at no cost.

Severability

If any clause of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining clauses remain in effect.

Entire Agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy policy, are the complete agreement between you and DOMINUS regarding the platform. They supersede any prior agreement or representation.
